Upon completion of Level 3, the apprentice is eligible to write the C of Q exam,
which is to be arranged between the apprentice and ITAC. Upon passing the exam,
ITAC will confirm with the BCDC that the apprentice has met all requirements and
is ready for certification. Should the apprentice fail the C of Q exam, retesting
is permitted after 90 days.
Upon passing, the apprentice will be granted both the Certificate of Apprenticeship
(C of A) and the Certificate of Qualification (C of Q).
Certificate of Qualification Requirements
A Member who does not register in the Apprenticeship Program and who meets the
qualifying Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) criteria may apply to the DGC
BCDC to challenge the Apprenticeship Program. The minimum requirements to
challenge are as follows:
* 3rd AD C of Q
- 3 years of experience as a DGC Member
- 300 paid work days of which no more than 150 days as a Trainee AD will be considered;
- the member must have worked on a minimum of six productions of which no fewer
than 15 days of work per production qualifies as a production;
- one of the productions must be a feature length film of over 61 minutes or more in length;
- of the six required productions, three must be different production companies. * ALM C of Q
- 3 years of experience as a DGC Member
- 300 paid work days of which no more than 150 days as a Trainee ALM will be considered;
- the member must have worked on a minimum of six productions of which no fewer than 15
days of work per production qualifies as a production;
- one of the productions must be a feature length film of over 61 minutes or more in length;
- of the six required productions, three must be different production companies. >
