*In order to work as a TAD, an apprentice must have completed Level 1 in the 3rd AD Apprenticeship Program.
*In order to work as a TAL, an apprentice must have completed Level 1 in the Assistant Location Manager (ALM) Apprenticeship Program.
*As the DGC does not ensure employment in any category for any member, Apprentices who successfully complete Level 1 are not guaranteed a TAD or TAL position and Apprentices who successfully complete Level 2 are not guaranteed a 3rd AD or ALM position.
*Classes are offered twice a year, as determined by demand, the DGC BC and ITAC.
*Each apprentice will be assigned to a class. Whenever possible, the apprentice will be given a choice of dates or be polled to help determine an appropriate date for each individual. Once assigned, the apprentice will be required to attend that class. If the apprentice declines the classroom assignment, the date of the decline will become the new registration date. If the apprentice declines twice, the apprentice will be dropped from the program. The apprentice must submit their signed acceptance or signed decline in writing, by fax or mail to the DGC BC office.
* The average class size for each level is 16 students
* Classroom days for each Level are as follows:
* Level 1 is 18 days over 4 weeks.
* Level 2 is 10 days over 2 weeks.
* Level 3 is 3 days.
* Students must achieve a minimum mark of 70% to pass each classroom portion of each Level.
* Apprentices must maintain an up to date Job Training Record Book, which is provided in Level 1.
* References may be checked prior to class seating.
* An apprentice is eligible to write the Certification of Qualification Exam (C of Q) upon completion of Level 3 requirements.
* Certification of Apprenticeship (C of A) and Certification of Qualification (C of Q) are awarded upon successful completion of all Apprenticeship Program training requirements and the C of Q exam. > > >
